In 2016 I injured my back doing heavy barbell rows.

 

Three bulging discs. The advice I got was to stop lifting and accept a different kind of life.

 

I didn’t accept it.

 

I spent the next two years rebuilding everything – how I moved, how I loaded, how I ate, how I recovered. Not cautiously. Methodically. With a clear system.

 

I’m stronger now than I was before the injury. I train pain-free. And I compete.

 

That experience changed how I coach. Every programme I write is built around keeping people training long-term without setbacks. Not just getting results fast – building a body that holds up.

 

I’ve been coaching adults in Carlingford and online since 2017. My clients are mostly former athletes in their 30s and 40s – people who trained seriously, drifted away from it, and want to rebuild properly.

 

They’re not beginners. They don’t need motivation. They need structure, a clear plan and a coach who holds a high standard.
